To piggyback off my last blog post, there's another reason why I stopped wanting to share my success w/ ppl outside of my circle - well, ppl in general.
People CAN BE NASTY lol
As playful as I tried to make that, it still might not be clear as to what “I” mean. Im going to keep this post short & sour: No matter what you achieve/do, to some of our peers, it's never gonna be good enough.
Me: “Yo, I made a new song, it's really a dope track”
Them: “Yeah, anyone can make a beat now.”
Me: “Yeah, but I really worked hard to arrange, and mix & construct the concept of…”
Them: “Yeah, me too. I used this A.I. app”
Me: "There's no ‘soul’ in that, tho.
Them: stares at you annoyingly “You're just mad cause I'm more talented than you…”
Or when it comes to how much income I've made during this process. lol, I don't even engauge w/ THAT topic for more than ONE response because of this:
*You're gonna say a number that's too small & they're not impressed
*You're gonna say a number that's too large & they won't believe you
Also, in the extreme cases, someone has been working either a million times harder/longer than you & they get pissed your success came b4 theirs OR someone gets into the field you're in because “it's trendy” & gets pissed at you because it didn't work for them & they see you as “bragging”
Yes, it's wild to think we live in a time where you sharing your success can be seen as you throwing it in ppl's faces. But it's also interesting those same folks get bothered when you don't share anything w/ them either. Almost as if you can't even “win if you try to lose" w/ some ppl lol
