Indies, this is for us!

So many of us in today's day & age truly think that EVERYTHING has to be done on their own. Despite the responsibility IS yours, the journey does NOT have to be. There is a saying in the world of business and it goes “Your Network is your Net Worth” - and that holds MUCH VALUE!

Understand, however, there is a difference between having a lot of passive network vs a solid/progressive network. U can have 20 - 30 ppl in which you deal w/ on a regular basis that have connections & “elbows u wanna rub w/” but if no action is being taken, no traction will be gained! In this case, you woud be better of w/ 3 -5 SOLID AF ppl who WILL participate in the advancement of whatever it is you're trying to reach. WITH THAT SAID, YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO RETURN THE FAVOR for them as well. Too many ppl want YOU to work for THEM (or in reverse) and become “too busy” when it comes time to reciprocate.

Building relationships are, in deed, a risk, but the reward can definitely be worth all the blood, sweat & tears - ESPECIALLY if every1 is in grind mode & are able to climb that mountain together! Best practice, especially if you are in a similar field, make the 1st gesture and BRING THEM SOMETHING TO THEIR TABLE! If you're looking at working w/ an artist, as a producer, shoot them a free beat that's along their speed & give them insight on how you see this song being performed. If you're an singer/performer, take one of their instrumentals you heard & create lyrics within that range/pitch & ask for their feedback. U might be able to build a relationship that way and show how open you are to feedback.

Are these suggestions going to yield you 100% success EVERY TIME? NO! However, it will 100% improve your chances of building your own network over the time it takes YOU to do so.

Best of luck to us ALL
